- Defrag the hard drive (not applicable to SSD drives)
- Remove any spyware, malware or viruses if found
- Cleaning the system registry (not always required)
- Highlight any programs causing performance issues
- Check start-up programs
- Recommend any hardware upgrades
- Hardware cleaning
